GREENBELT LIVE 1979 VIDEO

GREENBELT LIVE! VHS PAL VIDEO

A brilliant film capturing the atmosphere and excitement of the 1979 Greenbelt Festival at Odell Castle, England. 20,000 people turned up to Europe’s foremost event of Contemporary Gospel Music advertised as “a festival to the glory of God”.

This is a real collector’s piece featuring Larry Norman, Randy Stonehill, Cliff Richard, After the Fire, Bryn Haworth, Garth Hewitt ... and many more.

It was Larry's first visit to Greenbelt and “mainstage was mesmerised with his strange yet wonderful performance.  Larry's appearance was one of the highlights of the weekend”.

On video Larry sings the 1981 Something New Under The Son track “Let the Tape keep Rolling” with the Randy Stonehill band (consisiting of Tom Howard and Daniel Amos members) providing the backing. Randy sings an excellent version of “Good News” and Sir Cliff Richard pays compliments to Larry's music.  Cliff’s single “We Don’t Talk Anymore” was No1 in the UK charts over the festive August Bank Holiday weekend.

This is a special re-release to mark the 25th anniversary of a vintage Greenbelt. It was transmitted in the UK on prime-time BBC1 television. A fun-packed film offering an exuberant snapshot of where Contemporary Christian Music was 25 years ago … with Larry Norman as the highlight?
